7 Pin Tow Hook Up

I I have a question concerning the way the hitch 7 pin plug is wired. In trouble shooting the old one, I found two of the wires were frayed at the plug. However the connectors are encased in plastic so can't see exactly how it is wired. So, I tried it as shown in the 1st photo. I am having problems with the left turn signal. It doesn't blink at all when the left turn signal is on, but has a very weak blink when the right turn signal is on or the flashers are on

Wondering if anyone can tell how to wire it correctly? Also wondering if the second photo is a better option?Click image for larger version

think you might have a bad ground at the left blinker light might be in the light socket or the connector going to it

Thanks doublechevy, I kind of thought that as well, but when not connected to the coach, it works as it should. Really puzzled!

Arby49-

The "7-Way RV Standard" at this link shows the correct wiring for your coach and umbilical cable.

Note that the signal-pin placement is the key; the wire colors can vary (especially in umbilical cables). Make sure each signal is on the correct pin, all the way through.

Start at the coach hitch connector with a test light or a voltmeter.

I suspect the coach hitch connector has a broken wire inside. This is a common problem.
