'95 Monaco Dynasty Love

Hi! We just recently sold our 2013 travel trailer and came upon this '95 Monaco Dynasty that was owned by an older gent that took EXTREMELY good care of this coach. If a light bulb needed changed, he logged it. Absolute anal records. 96K on the 8.3L cummins, 6spd Allison w/mode.
We are going to be living in it as our big family house sells, (all kids grown) and we patently wait for the right property. Okay.. TMI.. to the questions.

First: Any and all tricks to keep out the cold/condensation on the windows (Oregon weather). I've heard there is a "bubble wrap" trick of dampening the window and the bubble wrap will stick.(?)

Second:(And most important) I'm sure there are some of you motor heads out there that have found the "most effective and safest for the engine" modifications to nudge this Cummins to the edge of it's 90's emission/power robbing/mileage robbing abilities. The 90's were terrible across the board for being choked down to meet emissions standards. I don't have to pass emissions in my area, yet I don't want to be irresponsible either, like the kids that leave huge black clouds for fun.
I don't have a huge pocket book, and there IS a line where cost would be higher for mods than I would EVER get in mileage returns. Power is acceptable, (300hp I believe), but sure would like a little more available for passing that truck on the hill WITHOUT endangering turbine or engine life. Yes, am willing to install pyrometer if I can find a good price.
Assume that I am very mechanically and electrically inclined.

Third: Any other issues I should be on the lookout for?

Thanks all!

Congrats on the new to you Dynasty, If you bounce around in here you're likely to find just about everything you need. Check the Cummins threads for the mods, not sure about the window trick but I bet somebody knows about it.

If it ain't one thing, Its something more Expensive

Hi, Jim. I checked out TST and it seems like it would be a good option, at least the safest.. I can't find anything on injector timing advance, or turbine pressure increase, but I haven't thoroughly checked all the threads here.

I have the same coach, 36'. Don't focus on power upgrades, you have plenty. Figure out how you're going to stop it and upgrade your pacbrake with the new model PXRB, I think.

We just spent six weeks on the Oregon coast and had condensation problems for the first time. For us, the key to mitigating it to some extent turned out to be ventilation. We cracked the ceiling vents every night and that helped a lot. Be sure to open the vent in the kitchen when cooking and the vent near the shower when washing.

The biggest accumulation we had was on the windshield behind the drape and on the window over the head of the bed. I wiped the windshield off with a towel most mornings because that area doesn't get much air circulation unless the dash fans and vents are operating. Opening the blind and cracking the window over the bed every morning usually dried it out pretty quickly.

If we were staying in that area much longer, I would look into getting a small dehumidifier.
