98 Monaco Windsor - AC Problem

My AC will not come on when i'm on generator power. AC will work if I'm hooked up to shore power. Any ideas? Thanks so much

Is AC you're referring to Alternating Current as in electricity or are you talking about air conditioning?

If you're talking electricity won't come on, as mentioned, check your c/b on the gen set itself.

do you have a automatic transfer switch?

Do other appliances (microwave for example) work with the genny?

Yes the system is suppose to automatically go to gen power when the gen comes on. I'm not sure where this switch is but I'm thinking this is the problem. Yes the microwave will work when the gen is operating. Still stumped.

If your inverter is turned on and inverting, then that may be the reason your microwave is working. The A/Cs are not powered by the inverter so they will not operate. Turn off the inverter and see if you have power in the coach with the generator. May be as simple as the breaker on the generator being tripped or off.

Thank you so much. I looked at the gen yesterday but missed the breaker. Looked again this morning and it was off. A/C units have been running for the past hour on gen power only. Need to check the basics and not over think some of these problems. Thanks Steve
