I replaced mine a few years ago, got a new one from Northwest RV Supply. I had to pull the old one out and go by measurements. 1998 Executive. Replacement has been in for four or five years with no leaks.

Good luck

Our heater core started leaking a couple of years ago. I bypassed it and we continued our trip.

When we got home, I measured and could see no way to replace it without removing the front cap or cutting a hole in it. I checked my bypass connections, and just left it.

We don't do much cold weather driving. Usually heat from the evening furnace and the sun is enough to keep us comfy.

Had the same problem. I installed 2 ball valves as described in post #1 & 2 in this thread. Got all the parts from HD.

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f104/maki...er-152494.html

Since we don't travel in the winter, don't know if I'll ever invest the time & $ to repair. If I do, it will be easy to just open the valves.

Replacing the heater core is not a pleasant job but it is doable .
The heater core and the A/C evaporator are mounted side by side
in a box outside over the gen on the pass side .
It's really a job for a young skinny guy , I'm not either of those but
I did it anyway .
The place Walt linked may have the part or a place in Ft Worth Tx
called Victory Climate Systems bought several of the companies when
they all went bankrupt , they probably have the part .

I will look at it again. My recollection is that there is less clearance between the core and the inside of the front cap than the depth of the core.

Access on mine would be reaching in from the generator pull-out and a sharp turn left, making it nearly impossible to touch it and see it at the same time. No way to work from underneath.

Our coach is a 32-foot. I am guessing some of the "shortness" came from between the cap and the dash.

edit: I measured - 6.5" from heater box to inside of the cap.

Matt the length has nothing to do with it, Monaco just added the system then built the coach around it, poor engineering. It is a bitch to do if you can make it without changing go for it.

Matt ,
It's been a few yrs since I had mine apart and as I recall first the cover
of the box came off then the heater and A/C coils still joined together
can be pulled towards the middle of the coach .
Then they can be separated easier .

You are correct it is very close in there
Initially most work was done with a mirror and feel .

Many yrs ago you could take a heater core to the local radiator shop
and they could take the end tanks off and install a new core .
I don't know if that is something that could be done on your core but
it may be a possibility .
That way you know it will fit .
