99 Windsor Alternator Wiring Diagram

Would anyone have a wire diagram for my 99 Windsor? I purchased a new Alternator and want to make sure I re-install it properly. I forgot to take a picture before I disconnected everything. I know that was dumb!
Thanks in advance
Attila

Here is the email contact with a person from Prestolite, who manufacturers Leece Neville Alternators.

ktaylor@prestolite.com

He had provided me replacement info in the case of my alternator was not buildable, fortunately I had mine rebuilt for ~$185

Here is a wiring diagram, hard to read but you could contact above and ask for assistance. Also, I had t wired mine prior to mounting, which made it easier but after I mounted I saw that the ground wire had started to come out of the connector so I had to recrimp. Make sure to check all connections after you are done.

I'm installing it Saturday morning. I'll let you know how it goes. I wasn't sure on the small wires attached. This was a big help.
thanks Again.

You're welcome

Attila,

My friend who posted above DtBt is very knowledgeable regarding our 99 Windsors. He had one and has been there and done that. He has been my mentor! Lol

I will be in Rhode Island in early October. My son was selected as a Naval Aviator and leaves for Officer Candidate School in July at Rhode Island. We will however be flying rather than driving the coach. Anything I can do to help let me know.

Congrats to your son!!

I installed the alternator this afternoon. I fired up the coach with no problems. I noticed that the volt meter in the dash was showing that it was charging at 12 volts. I decided to take a ride up the highway to test things out.
I turned on the dash a/c, and the volts dropped. I turned on the headlights and the volts dropped to 10. I shut off the a/c for a while to see if that would help and it sort of did. I was turning around at and exit to head back home and turned the a/c back on and the transmission dropped into 4th gear and the check transmission light came on. I got back home and parked the motorhome. I was in the driveway with it idling and the volts where reading 10. I pushed the battery boost button and the volt meter jumped to 14 volts and the lights on the dash got brighter. When the I'm idling I also check the house battery levels so I'm assuming that they are being charged.
How to I check if the alternator is charging correctly? The battery has been disconnected for over a week while I was waiting for the alternator. I'm wondering if it just needs to be charged? if I'm not mistaken the alternator should charge and run everything at the same time, right? Any imputed would be great, and sorry about the Ramblings.

The ALT should bring the voltage up to 14.1v within minutes unless there is a real problem with your chassis battery, which I doubt. Since you did not say I assume the ALT fail light is NOT on. I would put a meter on the battery isolator in the rear electronics bay. The center post is from the alternator and should read 14.1v or so and the end terminals are the house batteries and the chassis battery. Those posts should be about 0.3v less than the alternator. If one or both of the end posts read low the isolator is bad. If the alternator post is low look at the alternator to make sure the IGN terminal is hot with key on and the DUVAL terminal is connected to the battery isolator Chassis battery post. There are supposed to be inline fuses on the IGN and AC Sense (ALT Fail) lines if I remember correctly but I never saw mine when I replaced my alternator. Maybe Tom knows.

The ALT fail light did not come on. The only light was the check trans light, which I'm sure came on because of the low voltage. I will double check my connections though I'm sure I hooked them up correctly.
Thanks
Attila
