A/C Sweat

My 2000 Monaco Executive's A/C units sweat. When cooling they drip condensation onto the floor and bed. Help please.

Thank you,

Could be your coils freezing up and melting ice. Should have a drain up top under the plastic cover. It could be clogged up.

I just went through this with an old Duo Therm Penguin. It was OK until temperature was obtained and it started cycling the compressor. The plumbing to and/or from the evaporator coil outside of the drain pan was apparently icing up, likely due to being a touch low on freon or just worn out. It was 23 years old. The water would leak down next to the cold air duct, not in it. The previous owners did not disclose but did clean up the area to hide it.

I just last week replaced it(self install) with an Atwood Air Command 13,500 unit that was easy to adapt to my old installation and it is very, very quiet. We have a single ducted setup.

In humid weather mine does the same thing. I've cleaned the coils. What seems to help if I put the fan on continuously, low at first but if it continues I switch it to high.

I also make sure the unit is draining out the lower drain tubes. I did just install new gaskets and drain pans last year. The drain pans have very small holes that the tubing connects to, it does not take much to plug them up. When I changed the small drain pans there was a lot of debris in the pans, I'm sure when the AC was running some of the stuff would migrate toward the drain. The problem is there is not way to easily clean out the drains. The best you can do is blow air up from below on a regular basis.

Sweat

My 2001 diplomat did the same . I removed inside cover and tightened all screws that hold it onto roof . Problem solved . After awhile they had loosened and allowed the moisture to seep in

Open the cover and look at your drain plumbing. There is a TEE that connects the left drain to the right and then the tube that leads down to the bottom of the coach. The TEE came loose on my front AC unit.
