SacsTC;

How did you prepare the roof surface for resealing?

My dealer has a roof special where they remove and reapply self-leveling caulk. I'll have to ask them what they do to prepare the surface.

With our mild weather, it would probably be better if I jump up there and check it.

Bud,
I simply removed the old and scraped the surface with a scraper blade that kind of looks like a sharpened spatula.
The old stuff that was applied at the factory appears to have been a semi-liquid applied with a brush. The Dyco brand self leveling sealant that I used appears to adhere to everything it comes into contact with so I am not too worried that it will stick. (Sure stuck to me real well).
I check the seams approx every 3 months while I'm on the roof washing it, and since Dyco is not a brand I had used before, I will be watching closely to see what happens.

After I resealed the two fan vents and the black water vent, I made the mistake of checking the caulking on the TV antenna and the air horns. It popped up just like the vents. Three hours later, they are resealed also. What was Monaco thinking? After making MH's for 20 years, you would think that they would have a clue on sealing holes in the roof. It is a good thing that they fired every worker that made my coach.
