ABS light

I have a 2003 Knight. The ABS light will not go off. The mechanic wants to test the Module, but cannot find it. The coach has a Air/Hydraulic system. All the senders test normal. The inside caliper on one rear brake was bad so the brake calipers on both rear brakes have been replaced. The fluid was also low with no visible evidence of a leak. The ABS light will not go off.

I could not find a 2003 Knight manual. 2002 manual does not say much but 2004 looks like mine.
On mine it's on driver side front electrical bay in the bottom left. Does yours look like that?
If it is, you can actually retrieve the codes and try to re-set yourself.
The on-line manuals can be found here: https://www.monacocoach.com/rv-owners-manuals

Lowflyer1,

Thanks so much for this information. I have passed it on to my mechanic, but not heard back from him. If I have not by tomorrow, I will drive to his location and check this out myself.
Steve

I've had problems with my ABS module several times. The button would actually get stuck in causing the light to stay on. Usually I could take compressed air and blow it out will tapping it quickly.

The last time this didn't work so I had to pop the top off the button. There is a small spring plate underneath the cover, there are 4 legs that hold the button off the contacts. I carefully slightly bent the 4 legs to elevate the plate higher above the contacts. That was ~2K miles ago and no other problems.

BTW, the ABS module is obsolete, there are a couple places that offer rebuilding with no guarantees.

I will try that if we find it. Mine looks quite different than the photo on the post. My diagnostic hook up is on the Right and the floor of my compartment is empty. Everything is either on the back or end walls.

If you can't find a module similar to what's on 2004, maybe your coach follows 2002 Knight. Here is the caption for that one:

BRAKES - ABS SYSTEM (Anti-lock Brakes)
The Hydraulic Antilock Braking System is an electronic wheel speed monitoring and control system. The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) receives and processes signals sent from the wheel sensors located on each of the wheels. The ECU will process the signals and generate the commands to the solenoid control valves housed in the Modulator Assembly used to control the brake pressure. This process occurs when the wheels begin to lock. The rapid valve operations may even be noticed in the brake pedal.
The ABS indicator light located on the dash will alert the driver to possible system faults and is used by service personnel to assist in troubleshooting. In the event the ABS indicator light remains illuminated, the motorhome brake system may not be affected. However, continue to drive at a reduced rate of speed to the nearest repair facility.
