ABS Light On - 2007 Signature Commander

I have a 2007 Signature Commander - 45 and the ABS fault light has come on. I contacted REV Tech Support,,, the current replacement for vintage Monaco product support, and they told me to take it to my local heavy truck service center since this has to do with the chase/powertrain and not the house systems. Since I have a Cummins ISX 600, I took it to Cummins. The Cummins folks told me that the ABS system is not one they're use to seeing, which is a Bendix, and they told me I had a Wabco, and that I should contact Freightliner.

When I contacted Freightliner, they told me that the Wabco ABS System is for a Chevy Chassis.

Needless to say I've tried getting the correct info on the system I have from REV with no current luck.

Does anybody know what ABS system I have, and where could I get it serviced?

Thanks as always, you all have been an indispensable source of information.

Here is a link to a manual for you coach,https://www.monacocoach.com/resource..._Signature.pdf

on page 205 it explains how to retrieve the fault codes. also on page 212

I'd try to do this, write down the codes and come back and post.

I have to get my codes different but have fixed things like a sensor by simply pulling it & cleaning and reinstalling.

I have both the hard copy and PDF copy of my manual. I reference it often. I usually leave it out while on a trip and will page through it to refresh my memory.

Also have extensive files on my laptop covering almost every aspect of my coach.

Good Luck

I tried to retrieve the codes through the LED panel on the dash, but the coach is at Cummins for some other work and they got the Gen door, batt doors, and the low pressure warning is on, so those faults showing up won't let me get to the diagnostic area until I clear those conditions.

I did however used the ABS button under the dash to trigger the fault code report for the ABS module and it blinked six (6) times before pausing. According to the fault code list it shows that it has to do with one of the tooth sensors. I have to go back to the coach and try it again, and this time I'll take the fault code list.

The other issue is that I can't seem to find the module itself, so according to the manual it's between the rails,,, but I looked and didn't see anything on the roof of all the lower compartments. My suspicion is is that's it behind one or the carpeted basement compartment ceiling panels.

So I'll let y'all know what I come up with during my investigation.

In mine, dropping the second bay behind the steer tire ceiling panel exposes some controls, Aladdin, HWH, fuel and a couple of boxes which have undercoating covering the name plate. One of those may be what you're looking for. If you get in there I would like to know what those are if yours are legible.

The module could be anywhere

In my case the only compartment that does not have a carpeted ceiling panel is the small compartment that is accessible via the slide plexiglass doors. This is the same compartment my water heater, transfer switch , inverter, and water pump are in. My ABS module is mounted in the ceiling of this compartment.

I know you coach will be different (as they all are)

You should get more then one flash code. I'd try it again and see what happens.

I have a troubleshooting guide for my vintage coach and it says the first blink code 6 has to do with low voltage! Need the second code to pin point the area.

I just confirmed the Bendix ABS ECU is one of the boxes in the second bay above the ceiling cover. They are easy to remove, just a few screws and the cover is not very heavy.

That's good to know. I've been told the ABS unit is from Wabco, so it will be good to find out exactly what we have. I'm assuming they would choose one supplier for the ABS electronics and not have multiple. So my bet is that I have the same one you have - Bendix.

On another note, I got some feedback from REV Tech support and they said that the clicking noise I've/we've been referring to is the ABS modulating valves activating on its startup cycle, which sounds plausible. But one thing for sure their done with me, because the last email from them was real curt, and short,,, like "don't call us anymore, the Monaco you know no longer exists and we're tired of giving you free information."

But the real issue is that I can't seem to find a service center that knows what their doing. So the real benefit of a forum like this is that we're all sharing information and experiences that we can use to educate whoever is going to finally do the work.

Once I find out what ABS unit I have I get a hold of Tech Support of the supplier and get up to speed on the system, then find a service center that services that controller specifically.

And of course I'll let you folks know what I find.

Subscribing

I have an 05 that flashes intermittent lights on the dash and the ATC light is on intermittently also, I realize your coach is a different animal but itís always good to learn. And yes the clicking noises you hear are the system doing itís self check at start up.

The numbers I can see on the Bendix unit are:
MI2T36W4KV 0 486 107 101
MI2T36062161 I can't see if there are any more digits.
