Is there a replacement for those cheezy foam/mesh filters that the Dometic AC's use? No matter how hard I try, I just cannot seem to get these flimsy things clean.

Ron, here you go:

A/C Filters

You can cut to fit whatever size you need.

Disposables as suggested by Glenn are an alternative (although that is about $2 per change).

I have been rinsing (from the "back side") my filter under the kitchen faucet when it appears dusty. Get almost all the water out by shaking it against the sink divider (two basin kitchen sink). That same filter has been in place since about 1996.

The simple foam filter material is also available in the A/C area at the hardware box stores (Home Depot, Lowes, etc). I have also used it on the intake/return register to the forced-air furnace to reduce some dust circulation.

Well duuuhhh. I guess I should have done some looking first. Thanks for the tip.

I tried the wash-from-the-back-side and still got leftover "stuff" sticking all over the other side. Think I'll try a Home Depot sampler and see how it works out. $2-bucks a pop is kinda steep though.

Ready for the First (and last) Great 60th Birthday Trip coming up on the 22nd. We're going to Marion, NC to a small, highly-recommended campground there for the entire week.
