ac loses communication with thermostat

We have a 2009 Camelot with 3 AC units and a five button thermostat. The middle Ac occasionally loses communication with the thermostat and does not appear on the thermostat. Resetting thermostat does not always work. It is a periodic random condition. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your airs are coupled together by small wires that are much like
telephone cables then to the thermostat .
They use the same little snap in connectors as phones but are wired
differently .
These connectors are known trouble makers and can usually be
remedied by just plugging and unplugging a few times to , some
elect spray cleaner might help too.
I don't know at which location the problem might be , it may be
behind the thermostat .
Don't let the wire fall into the hole behind the thermostat .

Are you doing the factory-recommended reset procedure and not just turning off the switch on the bottom of the thermostat?

Also, florescent and/or LED lights can interfere with the reset. Turn them all off before resetting.

Have had this problem on several previous coaches. You have a data cable which runs from the thermostat to the ACs and furnace/AquaHot. As RamiDav said, get some contact cleaner and clean each connection. Start with the thermostat, then work your way to Z1. There will be a daisy chain cable to Z2 and beyond. If your problem is only Z2, then it's the cable between Z1 & Z2.
