ACRYLIC Shower Knob Replacement-Diplomat 2007

I was hoping someone here might be able to tell me where I can find a replacement knob for my shower in our 2007 Monaco Diplomat. I called Monaco and they told me that Dehco is now handling some of the faucet and parts of that nature as Cast is now out of business. They gave me a part number of 208924 for Dehco. Dehco has this but we found out they don't sell just the knob. They want us to purchase the whole kit which has the backplate, diverter and knob which would cost us over $60 shipped. All we want is the simple knob which should only be around $10. We tried to find one at Home Depot and Lowes, but couldn't find one to match. We even called Moen and Delta but we don't have either of those. There is no name on our shower faucet, so not even sure what brand it is.

Our knob has a hexagon opening centered in the inside middle that slips onto the diverter which has a hexagon adapter on it.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Roxanne

Take the knob to a home improvement store and see if you can find a match. If not take it to a plumbing supply store I bet they can find a match.

I replaced the whole unit with a decent one from the big box store. The original one is not worthy of a MH. deSanford

Acrylic Knob

We did the Home Improvement bit with Lowes and Home Depot. I'm not sure what other Home Improvement stores there are. I guess we can run around again to find one at a Plumbing Supply. I do appreciate that suggestion.

I'm with you on what they have in these coaches aren't what I would call quality. But, I'm not into investing tons of money to replace what is working for only a knob which is probably made in China that costs around $1.00 to make and sells for around $10. But, I may have to bit the bullet if I can't find one and get a whole new unit.

Thanks

Try a salvage yard or mobile home supply store.

Before I ditched ours for a Moen replacement I discarded the original knob and replaced it with a lever type handle from Home Depot. That made it easier to adjust the temperature. Just get a handle that will work on the shaft.

RVSavvy, I sent you a PM about a shower knob I have, and you can have it for free. Let me know if you still need it.

Tom,

It was over a year ago that he was looking for a knob. Sure hope he found one before now. He may still be interested in your offer for a backup.
