Just added a Porter Cable 6 gal 150psi Air Compressor. I found mine at a local hardware store here in Kansas City. Paid $119. They have both styles of the 6 gal compressor. I liked the model C2002R because it has a built in handle acrost the top and a place to wind up the porwer cord. Also only weights 34 lbs. Befor I posted this msg I checked with the hardware store and they just got in more of these. They are labled factory reconditioned, but the ones I looked at look like new with full factory warranty(over stock?). A pic of mine setting in the Monaco compartment (also added a 115v outlet in the compartment)is in pics below. Look in the Folder "Starting again with Monaco Knight". Store number is 913-236-5858

Logthumper,
I'm intreagued by your in-house transfer switch and the outlet installed on the genset to feed it. Have you posted information on iRV2 about that? If so, can you post a link to that thread? Thanks.

Me too, I always worry about losing power in the winter. Seems that ComEd likes to charge but not deliver.
I like where you park, Thank Goodness my garage is on the left side of the coach when backing in, sure makes parking easier when space is limited. Some how they built my garage just 8 inches from my coach.

No, I have not posted anything on this. Is really stright forward. The outlet mounted on the genset is wired as a 50amp RV outlet (2 115v circuits), wires matched up and connected inside the genset on the terminal block along with the wires running to the coaches auto transfer switch.
The "Manual Transfer Switch" located inside the house along side of the circuit breaker box is a 6 circuit unit. There are many of these available from several manufacturers. The one I have is made by Connecticut Electric. They are all about the same but I just liked the features of this one. Instructions come with the transfer switch, both printed and a video, and is not complicated - BUT - if not comfortable around this type of stuff, have a electrician do it for you. Just make sure he realizes that were wireing as a 50amp RV(2 115v circuits)as far as the connection to the genset is concerned. Check everything with a meter, 50amp outlet and cord to transfer switch befor actual using.
Seems like Ice Storms happen often and sure was nice to kick on the genset and enjoy the confort of lights and heat.

logthumper- as you mohome is new, did you put your Jaz catch can on right away from experience or as a result of a problem? I have seen them written up several times in the past, but associated them with older engines. SO all of that grime isn't from the road it is from Cummings still?? What model number is your unit? is it a simple hook up to the top valve cover vent tube?
Thanks,

Coach is new. Just wanted added protection for the rear radiator and aircooler. I tend to overdo things and prefer to be ahead of any protential problems. Don't have the model number handy but the main thing is to get one with 3/4" connection for no restriction air flow. Easy install.
