When Gordon was here in April...he adjusted the awning on both of our coaches. I have just taken some photos and will post them shortly...
Gordon...again...Thank You for doing that for me. Evidently they get a little hard to move if you don't mess with them every once in awhile...

Kev;

Is it possible to tilt the padio awning
lower so it doesn't stick straight out?
I don't mean so water drains off one end but
so it isn't 13 ft. over my head. I found pins
numbered 1-6 but I think its for angleing water.

I see other coaches that the awning is closer to the ground.

Hope this makes sence..thanks

tom

tjy...I have a photo showing the awning extended out. You can see a slight angle down from the photo.(which was taken from the step inside the rig)

You can see on the awning arm that there are some holes. Here is a close up...

In the middle of that photo you can see a little silver button that you would push in to release the awning from being locked in that straight out angle. Push that button in and adjust it to your desired angle. (Gordon adjusted ours to the fourth hole up. (It is the third hole from the top) I may still take it to the second one from the top to give it more of an angle.

I hope this helps...

That's great info, Mama. I noticed, though, that now the awning sort ot bends around the outer edge of the slide top. With the awning brackets shortened, does it still rise above that point, and not hit the slide, when you put the awining out and in?

Robin,

You just need to play with it until it just clears the slide. It still isn't as low as a regular awning would be, but it's not straight out and actually gives a littel more shade.

I may be fortunate in this regard as our main awning is attached to the main slide and not the coach:

Yes MblCndo ...Sacs and I have always said that is where all awnings should be mounted!

MblCndo,
Does your slide have the holes marked 1-6
and operate the same way as the over the slide type?

Do any of you use tiedowns for the awnimg?
Was wondering because on the unit I just traded they could not be used since it had a wind sensor and the rear arm would bend like an elbow to supposedly shed water.

not a dumb question at all, tjy...since we had our old awnings offset - but these we did NOT offset, since they are power. (Maybe if I read the booklet..I would find out IF I could offset them. I will forewarn you - make sure you poke any puddled rain to run off. The awning will not go in if there is puddled water on top of it...just ask Sacs!
