Adjusting slide topper tension

Installed Stone Vos slide toppers, a big improvement over the old ones! Everything went well and it looks great.

It seems to me that the tension is a little low on one of the long awnings, probably because we didn't get it tight enough when we re-installed the roller. I know how I can change the tension, like this:

put slide half way out - remove cover - insert locking pin - remove roller bolt - pull roller out and tighten as needed - insert roller back in end cap - insert roller bolt - remove locking pin - re-install cover.

Whew! a two man job on the long slide, for sure. So I was wondering if I am missing an easier way to adjust tension? A simpler procedure I overlooked?
