Air brake leaks and adjusting automatic slacks

Anyone know what type of automatic slack adjusters Monaco used on a 2006 Endeavor?

Fixed most of the air leaks on this beast but now the brakes are acting up. Went to drive her out this morning and she was squealing and sliding like a pig down the very low sloped driveway. Scared the crap out of me. Didn't know that changing out air lines would put the slacks out, but who knows?

Finally got the beast to stay put and drove her back up to the house. I know there are various methods to set these automatic slacks inside the cab, like applying the service brakes 6 times....but I also know that specific manufacturers have different specs and procedures.

Anyways, something else to keep this senior busy until I drive her right off a cliff one day Might be the best decision I ever made!

Other than doing a 6 pack you are not supposed to adjust the slacks. If they still are put of adjustment you have a mechanical problem. Supposed to be done by a certified mechanic. To do a 6 pack first block the wheels and release the park brake. Tap the brake pedal to use up the air and then wait until the air drier spits. You should be at around 125 lbs. Do 2 or 3 full applications of the brakes and the compressor should again build up to 125. Repeat the above 2 more times. If your slacks are working properly you are good to go. Air brakes are not something an inexperienced person should touch.

Slack adjusters don't get tight, when out of adjustment. They get loose.

Did the brakes not hold or did they drag.

Auto slack adjusters don't go out of adjustment by changing air lines.

Not sure how a pig goes down a slope.

If You can give a clear description of what happened, I may be able to help.

I have training certificates in air brake systems and 34 years of experience working on them.

Just a WAG based on my last Freightliner chassis, but when you mentioned "she was squealing and sliding" it could be the brake drums rusted while the coach was sitting.

My last coach would do that. The squealing would wake the dead until I applied the brakes several times to remove the flash rust from the drum surface. That rust would also cause the drum to catch and kind of drag causing uneven braking. My current coach does not do that.

Has the grease zirks for the 'S' cams been hit at least annually?
