I appreciate the dialog in this thread I was not aware of the 10x hard rule.
Do you do this while sitting still or on a slow oll?

Either is O.K. to take up any slack. Also, if you find your brakes squealing, Apply the brakes hard from about 40 mph to a stop. Repeat a few more times and the squeal will generally disappear. Repeated 'gentle' applications of the brakes can create glazing on the liner, a few hard stops will get rid of it. I used to have to do it to school buses all the time. Note: make sure everything is secured, drawers, doors, and tray tables in an upright position before trying the above.

In CDL school we were taught to do a 6 pack. You make 6 FULL PRESSURE applications of the foot treadle. NOTE: This will not work if your air pressure is not above 90 lbs. The procedure is done with the engine running and if after a few applications your air pressure drops to below 90 you must wait for it to build. In school this is done with park spring brake OFF and the wheels chocked .
