Air Dryer

Hello all,

Trying to resolve my air problems, I came across the Pure Air Dryer. I spun the Haldex 201160 filter off and doing so the rubber gasket came off. Also, I could not get the internal filter out, does it screw out? Since I can not find any numbers on the Air Dryer did Monaco used the same Pure Air Dryer on all of their RV'S? I would like to buy a service kit but do not know the exact model number? Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks and as always safe travels,
Pat M

No, at some point they switched to Merritor Wabco System Saver 1200 dryers.

Pat - I found it easier to pull the dryer off to service it - not too tough, It is a pure air plus DA33100 or N4250, service kit is a DQ6026. The coalescing filter is just pushed in with an o-ring seal, you have to pull it straight out, they are prone to breaking off if not... there are a lot of threads on here about people who have repaired / rebuilt, purchased a rebuilt, or replaced the whole air dryer for less than the cost of a kit. lots of different options and opinions.

Thank you for your responses.

Went on Amazon and found the kit @ $135.00 and will do more research tonight. The valve included in the kit is that the unloader valve?

Thanks,
Pat M

You should also get the lower kit too.

You’ll replace all the wear items with both kits. There’s a trick to servicing the bottom end. You have to stick a Phillips screw driver into one of the ports to remove a screw holding a washer and rubber seal. You drop the replacement in from the top and reinstall the screw.

Just received the service kits. Watch a video on installation of the top kit. Cannot find a video for the bottom kit and the instructions are vague. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Pat M

Just curious.

What is the price difference between the two kits and the price of a Haldex (i.e. factory) REMAN dryer??

Wolfe10,

On FinditParts found a reman for $243.91 + $100.00 core deposit. Also on FinditParts ordered both kits for $150.05.

Safe travels,
Pat M.

Installed both service kits today and took me about 5 hrs. I removed the unit and everything was going good until I was trying to replaced the purge valve. It took me about an hour just to get that out. With the aluminum housing, I just wanted to be careful. I have own the RV for 3 years and I wonder when was the last time this was service? Following Haldex instruction of stopping @ 100psi and checking for leaks, no leaks started the RV Air Dryer purge @ 115psi and both needles settle and 119psi. which is 9psi higher before I replaced the Governor and serviced the Air Dryer.

Thanks to all who responded,
Pat M

Nice work! I have the same air dryer on my coach, and it’s probably about time for me to get those rebuild kits also.
