air dryer

I can't hear it, it drains down very slowly, takes 2-3 days. I assumed it was the dryer!!!!

air dryer

Ben, my system never had a check valve between the dryer and the wet tank, did yours?

There is a PPCV which is needed for these Meritor dryers with the regeneration valve. My replacement dryer came with one. I never replaced mine because I wanted to change one part at a time.
I can't say for sure it is installed between the wet tank and dryer.

Sorry Jon if I opened up an old issue, no offence meant, but I just ran across this posting when doing research on replacing my the dryer on my 1994 Monaco Signature. I started out by looking underneath my coach and feeling bamboozled at the piping and valves attached to the exterior of my dryer. I found various literature designating the need for a particular dryer (or external valving) needed for Holset type E compressors. I have come to the conclusion that I have a type E compressor, you may not. In case you do, from what I've read, the Holset type E requires back-pressure be maintained during purge cycle or the compressor will pass extra oil into the dryer. I've listed below the pdf and the url of a Tech Notes document produced by Haldex relating to the type E particulars that shows a picture of how to identify the type E compressor and the dryers that are recommended for it.
