Air Horn stopped working?

All of a sudden the horn went off by itself and now it won’t work. What could have gone wrong?

I have a 2002 Windsor so it may be different but in my front drivers side electrical bay under the drivers window I have 2 small fuse/relay boxes. In my Monaco 1 box there is a 20 amp fuse PLUS a relay that controls the air horn. I would check for a fuse first and the the relay.

On my coach the horn air, the solenoid is located in the upper cabinet above the drivers seat behind the cabinets. Not an easy way to access, I found mine when I replaced the old analog TV.



You symptoms suggests possibly a failure of the relay, causing the horn to come on and then possibly fuse blowing. Just a guess.

I agree with Jim J.
If it's not that though, do you have the VIP smart wheel? If so it could be an issue with the controller or the console on the steering wheel. I had no airhorn and no cruise control one time and it turned out to be the smart wheel console circuit board.

If they are Hadley horns, call their customer service dept. Mine stopped too and it turned out to be a stuck solenoid. (fuse was good) solenoid was repairable (didn't need to replace) and they can save you time in troubleshooting.

Our air horns were not working when we purchased our coach. Located the solenoid just above the generator between the firewall and the outside skin. One of the wires was disconnected. In addition, the air horns were full of mud dabber mud. Cleaned the horns connected wire and all was good.

So what turned out to be the problem with our air horn was when the check valve from the air tank was changed it was put in backwards. Thus causing no air for the air horn. Thanks everyone for your great inputs.
