Moving compressor in the basement

Hi Paul,
here's a pic and a short description
It was real easy,
  • Remove the compressor
  • Remove the bracket
  • Drill a hole through the front basement
  • Move the hose + wires through
  • Move the hose and wires through
  • Install the bracket with self taping screws
  • Re-install the compressor on the bracket
  • Voila

Thanks for your reply. Yes, when I do have the system in the auto leveling mode, I do hear frequent clicking noises. However, never do I hear anything other then that. Nothing that sounds like a compressor. Plus, despite the clicking, the coach still goes out of level. I will definitely have the compressor and pressure switch looked at.

An 08 Dynasty will have the compressor on the drivers sidem
It is on a nsll platfor behind the genset. You have to get under right behind the lf tire. Bad place
Sometimes the comptessor is rottem due to eatet and dirt. But sometimes it is the pressure switch
It is loud. There is a self resetting breaker in the front run bay.

The 12v aux air compressor is notorious for failing. Part of the problem is it is exposed to the elements under the coach.

The older coaches (2006 and older) use the Thomas 405ADC38/12 Piston Air Compressor, 1/10HP,12VDC 100PSI. It is very quiet but the case is open and it's very susceptible to dirt/dust. This is the same pump used in dentist offices, so it is extremely quiet.

The Viair Industrial grade 250 air compressor is a much better suited compressor, but it is loud in comparison. The Viair 250 Industrial pulls 11 amps whereas the Thomas pulls 10.5. (I don’t think .5a is a big deal.)
The Thomas is rated at .24cfm at 100psi and the Viair 250 is .45cfm at 100 (almost double) and the Viair is 100% duty cycle at 100psi.
And to top it off the Viair is sealed and almost half the cost of the Thomas and is good to 150psi where the Thomas is rated to 100psi.
So, you can have quiet, or you can have high output and long life at the expense of noise.

This is a link to a thread on replacing the aux air compressor and Nason pressure switch.

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely look for it. I will replace all the fuses even though they look good. I will also look for the breaker you mentioned. Many suggestions about the pressure switch. Owned the coach for over two years and have never heard a compressor. Only clicking.

Will be going in for service shortly. I’m hoping my states only class a dealer will know enough about these systems to get it right.
