Air leveling system questions
I have a 2005 Monaco Executive with the air bag leveling system. The automatic level control appears to be out of adjustment, coach is not level after running automatically.
Can anyone tell me where the leveling board and adjustments are located???
Also after being parked for several days the coach goes way out of level. Is there a supplemental air compressor in this system. If so, any ideas where this is located and what repairs are needed.
Thanks for any help!!!!
Jerry

Yes I believe you will have an elec. air compressor in the system to level when engine is off. I have no idea where the board is. I have heard of some in the run bay under the driver, sometimes attached to the ceiling of the box. Mine is behind the cabinet next to the driver. Those control boards are a problem. Mine has been replaced twice in the last 2 years.

The pressure switch that turns on the compressor on mine recently failed. I didn't go out if level but it would have eventually. Easy to test and is nearby the small compressor. Looks like an oil pressure sending unit.

Jerry, yours being a later model may be totally different, but on mine the leveling sensors are on a round metal plate in the top of the compartment that has the water heater, the inverter, the water pump, and the water distribution manifold.
I too had to adjust the sensors after getting the MH. It's not a big deal. You just use a long carpenters level to get the coach completely level, then adjust the sensors so the indicators show level.
We LOVE the air leveling!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Is this the Valid Air Leveling? If so, there is a 'Zero Set' feature where you can reset the level position. It is outlined in the manual or I can send your the pdf. It's a simple procedure but it sounds like you may have another problem with the compressor not cycling.

Hello - on a 2003 Exec the auxiliary pump is just behind the front axle and the level sensor and the electronics are in ceiling of the second bay (under a cover).

On the '06 Dynasty, the compressor is mounted just behind the utility bay, ahead of the drive axle. It is mid-ship left to right. I understand that many are mounted behind the steer axle, as well. The compressors on those are noted for reduced longevity. Ours failed several years ago, and I replaced the compressor portion. I noticed a few months ago, it failed again. Rats! Not fun getting under there to remove and replace it.
On ours, the "brain" for the system, including the leveling board, is above a removable door in the "roof" of the storage bay behind the fuel tank bay, between the frame rails. Here's a link to the HWH manuals for our coaches. HWH Operators Manuals for Monaco & Holiday Rambler It describes how to adjust the north/south and east/west settings on the board. The nature of the design is such that it is unlikely that it will get out of adjustment unless it is messed with. But it's possible. And the ever present slow air leaks can make the coach go out of level when parked.
FYI, when we store our rig, we store it on a relatively level surface and always dump the air bags so that it can't settle on any one corner and twist the structure.

Thanks for all of the information and helpful suggestions. Any suggestions where replacement parts are best purchased?
I found the HWH control box under the door in the storage bay but did not see the level sensor board with the indicator lights.
Thanks again!!!!!

Did you look in the equipment bay where I mentioned? I don't remember the sensors having any lights under there. I think I had my wife watch the lights on the panel by the driver's seat and tell me by cellphone what the lights were showing!

Hi, again, Jerry. The leveling board is maybe 2" x 4", and is mounted to the adjusting "screws" on one end. Unfortunately, it is above the main board the you can see through the glass. You are not able to see all of the board. The adjusting screws are concentric. I forget which is which, but one is about a ¾" or even 1" hex nut with a screw in the center of it. One rotates the tiny board left to right and the other rotates it up and down (front to back). I've messed with mine a lot but that was quite a few years ago. Now, it works really nicely, and I leave it alone.
I want to remember that I couldn't see all of the lights, directly, but could tell when one would illuminate and would go off. So knowing which way I was moving the board, I could tell when it was "level".
Also, I would suggest you let the system "level" your coach, and then tweak the fore and aft, or the left and right very slightly in the direction you want to correct it to. Then wait for the system to re-level, and see how you did. Plan on it taking several tries, maybe even over more than a day. Eventually you will be happy. Make your adjustments really small. The system should re-level roughly every half hour.
That is how I did ours, and we've been happy for several years, now. Not fun, but it was worth the trouble.
