Aladdin Outside Temp. Reading

Can anyone tell me why the outside Temp. reading on my Aladdin display always read minus degrees no mater what the Tem. is outside even if it is in the 90's. Is there away to reset it so it read correctly?

You did not indicate that you have a remote for the unit and I assume that you do. I would check the batteries in both the main unit and the remote. I do not have an aladdin but the unit I do have will give a erronious reading if either unit has depleted batteries.

The Aladdin does not have separate batteries for the temp sensing. Normally if they read negative temp means that the sensor has failed or is disconnected. I would use the Aladdin trouble shooting manual and locate the box on the basement overhead and make sure that all is plugged in tight. You should be able to swap the inputs for the outside and basement probes and see if the problem switches.

My Aladdin boxes in my Monaco are in the ceiling of the first storage compartment on driver side of coach. Maybe yours are also there?

When you guys refer to a remote are meaning some type of
remote temp sensor?

Or did Aladdin provide a remote control like for your TV?

Is Aladdin still around to purchase supplies from?

Thanks!

The answer is NO and NO. Not what you wanted to hear. The temp sensor can probably be bought if you can find it and if there are any numbers on it or Monaco Tech can help you.

If your 2008 Knight is like my Endeavor, the temperature box and the sensor are located in the RH compartment above the fuel tank. The temperature probe was just kind of hanging in mid air above the tank. I had my sensor go bad due to a poor design of the sensor probe. The actual sensor is a 10K ohm thermistor, they are fairly inexpnsive, just kind of hard to find at a good price.

The gas panel will swing open if you remove 2 screws at the rear edge of the panel that hold the panel shut.

worth noting that the alladin jr. in our knights an endeaver's is a very different beast than the alladin system in a sig or dynasty.
