Alarm and touch pad entry

I have a 2004 monaco dynasty which I just purchased. The alarm fob only sets the alarm but doesn't lock or open the door. Is that the way it is supposed to work from the factory and I can't find the reset button? The touch pad to lock doors does not work when I push 555 which it did when the previous owner showed me. Help.

The reset button is supposed to be under the passenger cup holder or under the dash.

My key fob does the same thing. I've never used it to lock.

Welcome to irv2. I've moved your post here to get some owner input.
Good luck.

Thank you. I found the reset button. I changed the open code which clicks but doesn't unlock when I lock with key. It also won't lock when I push 555.

Mine locks on "559", not "555". That locks front door and all bay doors. Maybe the "555" is just the front door, never tried it!

I looked and never found my reset button so I just wired my own in. I then went through the reprogramming.

My lock code is 555. When I use the keypad to open the front door, as soon as I put in my entry code if I push the 7/8 tab it will open my bay doors.

Do you have the manual on the remote entry??? Are you following the correct process/procedure??

This is what was in my manual
If the remote does not respond, it may need authorization.
• Locate the keyless entry receiver box behind the instrument cluster.
• Unplug the receiver box. Plug receiver box back in.
• Within three seconds, press the lock button on one the remote. The entry door should lock
• Press the lock button on the other remote.

I have heard that the key pads will go bad and ultimately make the whole system inoperable. Is your key pad in good shape, has it kept out the moisture.
