Discovered yesterday the electric 50 amp cord reel is rather none repairable since there are no screws or bolts to take apart just rivits. Reason I found this out is because as I was leaving a site on sunday someone forgot to unplug. Would not have been so bad if I wasn't plugged into a huge elect panel and cord ran thru the 4 inch hole in the bottom of the panel. Guess I am lucky I didn't pull the panel and posts out of the ground. Anyways, when I arrived home thought I would try to plug in but tripped the braker in the garage right away. Must have a short now where the wires are connected in the hub of the reel and do not see anyway to open to repair. Anyone have any thoughts on repairing this not sure what brand of reel it is but sure is the one Monaco has installed backwards. Thinking if it needs to be replaced rather than spending the $600 to do so just install a male plug on the cord from the reel to the (not sure of proper name) black box.

Thanks

ED S just drill out the pop rivets. use the same size drill bit as the size if the rivet. probably 1/4 or 3/16. the head normally will pop off first, then drill out the rest of the body. easy! jim

Don't fret too much. I took out my own mailbox with my first RV on it's first trip. DOH!

Here is my Misery Loves Company post. Pushed a boulder out of the way a couple of weeks ago in Glenwood Canyon, CO.

Ditto on taking my mailbox out on first trip with then new RV. Second trip was much better - only grazed the front fender of the toad after Mrs gave the "come ahead you're clear" signal. Have new mail box, but same Mrs. and toad! Good luck with the repair.
