FWIW Here is a lit of Approved Fluids

Mine has been in for 3 years and about 30k miles. I had an analysis done and the TAN was .81. I called Allison and the Tech said it was good to go.

Allison states that 10 qts of Transynd is needed for a complete filter change. I found out that if I do the filter change with the MH parked on a slight uphill slope I reduced the loss down a quart and a half.

3000 Deep sump, changing both filters, 4.5-4.75 gallons, mine took the 4.75, Filter kit & 5 gallons of fluid start and check at 4.5 when filling, easy job.

OK I got it done
When I removed the drain plug 4 gals.came out,when I removed the filters only 2qts. came out.For a total of 18 qts.
I used Shell Spirax ATF,I put 18 qts. in,ran it to get it hot and used the two arrows to check the level,it said add 4,so I put in the rest of what I had and rechecked it,now it says add 2?
I only took out 18 qts.Now it has 20qts.in it ?

Phil, I have a question for you. Your MH had Transynd synthetic fluid in it. I have to ask why you took it out and replaced it with a non Allison approved fluid? With Transynd you can go forever with only just changing fluid and topping it off.

Read the attached.

I would drive it on a trip before I added any more. Make sure you are leveled up before you do a check.

Mike,

Shell Spirax ATF is one of the approved fluids.

I agree with Steve. Drive it and check it multiple times. Even a little slope will not be accurate. I wait until I see add X multiple times. I once had to suck an overfill out and it's not easy.
