Another Keyless entry question.
I have a 2000 HR Imperial. It has a keyless system that just has the key fob, no numeric keypad. When I bought the coach, it only had one key fob. The fob has Carbine written on it and I can find additional fobs on the Internet. However, the instructions indicate I need a "Remote programming requires either a push button valet or override toggle switch." Does anyone know where to find one of these? I have looked under the copilot cupholder and in the pilot side elect compartment.

Probably under the dash panel if you have no keypad. Look for a black plastic box about 3"x3" and the wire should be running off that control box.

CapnMorgan......The majority of the units found on other models is located in the center of the dash. I just worked on a neighbor's coach the other day. His was located where mine is.....remove drawers on dash center console and look inside. If not there, look to just the right of the center console (under the dash).
If you find yours and its similar to the others they typically used, there is a red light with about three feet of wire and the reset push button with three feet of wire tied up near the control module.
I cut and spliced about six more feet of wire to the light and moved the light to the passenger side "A" pillar where its visible through the front windshield. When you lock the coach with the remote, the light blinks. The unit is really an alarm system without the door sensors and alarm attached.
If the fob is working at all, keep clicking it while listening for the box.

If your Imperial is like my Windsor there is a single button on a wire pair tucked up under the bottom edge of the dash near the center console on the driver's side. It's just under the dash air vent located to the right of the ignition switch. In that same area is a small square box with a speaker that puts out the various beeps when programming the keyless entry using the single push-button.
I don't know if our coaches have the same system though. My fob says "Keyless" and the system was made by Essex, who is no longer in business.
FWIW

Essex still has their website up. They appear to be still in business.
Keyless.com - Official Site of Keyless Entry® Keypad Access Control Systems designed for Security Professionals
I've replaced the keypad on our 04 Imperial once and it is now acting up again. It doesn't work well in low temps. The claiom is that they are pezio switches but they won't work till yhou warm them up. If ours is being cranky I rub my fingers across the pad vigorously to warm it up then it'll work. Does anyone know of a replacement that isn't made by Essex?
Ron

Keyless entry fob.
Thanks, Ron, for correcting the error.

Thanks to the help above, I have found, 1 - the alarm horn (which is weirdly located in an area that is easily accessed and cannot be locked (gen bay) and 2. a little black box with a red light on one side and a button on the other (at the right knee of the driver, mounted under the dash, but visible when blinking). So I assume that I have located either the push button valet or override toggle switch, thanks to all.

On mine there is a momentary push button that puts the system into diagnostics mode to change the keypad entry codes etc. It is nice that the LED blinks when the doors are locked, I can see it all the way from the back so I don't have to guess if the doors are locked.
