Download the owner's manual. I just did it for the new Ranger and before we purchased our 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk four years ago.

Here is a link to the Motorhome Magazine Dinghy Towing Guide.

I looked and the 2020 Explorer is not listed.

The following quote is on page 283 of the 2020 Ford Explorer Owner's Manual

Recreational Towing

You cannot recreational tow your vehicle
with all wheels on the ground because
vehicle or transmission damage may occur.
We recommend towing your vehicle with
all four wheels off the ground such as
when using a car-hauling trailer. Otherwise,
you cannot recreational tow your vehicle.

In the 2020 model, Ford changed from front wheel drive to rear wheel drive thus making it where you cannot tow 4 WD. I have a 2014 Explorer (FWD) and I tow 4 WD

We tow a 2018 Ford Edge that is AWD with all 4 down. Only restriction is that it needs to be the 3.5 V6 engine/trans combo. Will not work with the 2.0 or the 2.7EcoBoost versions. We love the Edge.

While we tow the jeep jku 4 down... many times we wish we had the 6 seat Explorer Sport with us !
I looked into it and it's possible with our 2013, but @ 130k miles and that lil twin turbo beast running fine, I don't want to jinx it
