Aqua-Hot low water flow

1994 Monaco Signature. Aqua-Hot worked great last year. I winterized it and it sat for 6 months. Just pulled it out of storage and service it. Noticed I had very little hot water flow. I've isolated it to the heat exchanger within the Aqua-hot unit. I've tried flushing it out all day with little results. Lot of little mineral deposits come out but flow still very, very weak. Any ideal on how to desolve these deposits and flush this heat exchanger????

Here is a dedicated group just dealing with AH type systems:

HydronicRVHeating : Hydronic-RV-Heating

I don't have any suggestions, but they may...

Not an expert here but I had a friend with the same problem with a Hydro-Hot. On the back of the unit there is a mixing valve that mixes cold water with the hot after it's heated. This keeps the water from scalding you. This valve can become clogged with gunk or what ever and restrict the flow. Sometimes you can just open the valve all the way and it will clear, other times it has to be replaced. If you do open it up all the way count the turns so you can go back to that setting. Marty

I am a trained and certified by Aqua-hot BUT...
I am not sure what your problem/problems might be.
#1 I am wondering what you used to winterize your unit, type antifreeze, if any.
#2 is your water hot. Heaters warm.

I’ve resolved my Aqua-Hot water issue. After 14 years the domestic hot water heat exchanger within the Aqua-Hot unit was plugged with hard water deposits. I had no luck locating a chemical to dissolve these deposits, So I took a 5/16 inch stainless cable, hooked one end to a drill and slowly fed the other end into the heat exchanger. 15 feet later I was all the way through. I flushed out all the loosen crud. (it does not appear I poked a hole in the heat exchanger) . Reconnected my water lines and I now have lots of hot water flow.
If you know of a chemical that will dissolve hard water deposits please let me know. I would like to get all the deposits out sometime this winter.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Thanks you for getting back to us with your good out come.
I know that I've seen them use a product called "CLR" (calcium lime rust) remover on television removing calcium or hard water stains off of the inside of coffee pots. My wife has also used Oxy-Clean on some stainless steel cups we have and they look like new. Marty

White vinigar is recommended for coffee pots that do essentially the same thing.

Thanks for all the input. I did tried the white vinegar and the CLR with no luck. I even let it set for 24 hours. The deposits were still hard as a rock the next morning.

Just returned from a week trip in the motor home and my wire cable trick on the aqua-hot heat exchanger appears to be working just fine.
