FWIW our thermostat in in a terrible location, collects heat and shuts off prematurely. Have to set it a good 5+ degrees higher than we should

The blower switch light in the galley will not come on until the thermostat is calling for heat. In fact even if it is calling for heat it may be that switch is off. You need to press it when the thermostat is calling for heat, only then can you turn it on or change the speeds. Are your zone pumps running? If so, then you probably have stuck check valves, especially if the system has hardly been used. It may just take a sharp rap on each valve to get heat through the loops.

I'm thinking the control panel is out. The blower switch in the bathroom lights up. When I connect that loop to the engine preheat switch, it lines get hot and can feel fluid moving thru them. Blower doesn't come on. One wire was frayed so I went to splice it and decided to see if blower works by connecting to a unswitched 12 supply and blowers come on. How can I test to see if the control board is getting a signal from the thermostats?

Are you saying that nothing lights up on the Electronic Controller Panel inside the Aqua-Hot?

Have you gone through any of the trouble-shooting steps in the service manual?

the first thing to check is that there are no blown 12 volt fuses blown. Check the fuses located either in the bathroom or bedroom closet. They should be labeled.

The engine preheat loop works and lights up. The diesel burner works and lights up. The electric element works and lights up. I didn't see any blown fuses either.

So none of the other lights on the Electronic Controller Panel are lit up such as Pump #1,#2 or #3, Low Battery Voltage, Overload Fault, etc?

What about any of the heating Zone Status lights?

No pump lights other than the engine preheat pump when I turn it on. The low temp cut off is lit up but is not used on this model. And the electric heating element, diesel burner and heating status light up.

Going through all that you have said so far and comparing it to the troubleshooting procedures below in the attachment indicates that you have a bad electronic control board. Have you completed the troubleshooting procedures below and come to the same conclusion?

No but I tested pump and blowers with an independent external 12 volt supply. I may try that on Tuesday

i took that independent 12 volts as being the same as what was in the procedures but it would be best to follow the actual procedures and make sure. The next couple of pages after these procedures tell you how to take out the control board.

Mike,

That trouble-shooting page is from an Aqua-Hot model 600D. His model is a 100-04S. It may or may not be the same steps, not sure.

However, the service manual I referenced in post #4 gives trouble-shooting steps for the circulation pumps in section 7.7 & 7.8 on pages 34 and 35.

If any of those steps fail then his Electronic Controller needs to be replaced.

Richard I noticed that page was from different manual also. The 100-04S manual doesn't have the procedure for replacing the control board. Is it the same. I'm guessing shut off all power to unit. 12 volt and AC. And replace panel. But I would like to have something form the company so I don't screw up a $400 part.

Thank you all for your help.
