Aquahot heat exchanger problem

Hello All,

I turned on the thermostat in the bathroom zone this morning and nothing happened. The thermostat clicked but no fan blowing from both heat exchangers. I moved the thermostat lever back and forth and then suddenly the fans and heat came on. I let it run for awhile then turned off the thermostat but when I turned it back on neither of the fanswould blow again. The other two zones work fine.

Is the wall thermostat the problem?

Is your AH burning diesel, or on electric?

4 button thermostats seem to be a problem along with the little toggle. If you have one of these turn the temperature up so it will run and if it kicks off see if the thermostat is blank (lost power). I've seen threads on new buttons but haven't seen a source for the new toggle switch. You can pop it off the wall (bottom first), unplug the phone connection and spray it with contact cleaner. I had a problem with the switch which is a potential problem for the dog.

It is on diesel. However I just took off the thermostat cover, blew out some dust, pushed on a small electrical contact and the heat exchangers came on as normal.

Does being on diesel or electric have an affect?

Well, if the electric element does'nt have the boiler fluid all the way up to temp, I have heard the thermostat click, meaning that zone is calling for heat, but the exchanger doesn't start up. This will also happen if you run some hot water, while a zone is running, since hot water has priority over coach heating.
Doesn't usually happen while the burner is running.

The thermostat on the wall doesn't know which source is heating the water if that's what you are asking. Or if the water is even hot

We use the electric element when we have neighbors and exercise the diesel when we don't. If it gets below 40 outside the electric starts to have a hard time heating the coach though

It looks like it was just a dirty electrical contact in the wall thermostat.

Thank all for your input.
