AquaHot Heat problem

My '05 Windsor has the factory installed Aquahot. The front-room zone just quit receiving heat (blows cold air at all vents). The rear zone works fine, and hot water works fine.

Anyone know what could cause this?

Stuck valve. Turn on hot water and both zones. Go to Hydro hot and feel the lines coming out. Two or more will be hot (working). One will be cold (not working). Rap on the cold ones valve with the handle of a screwdriver. Feel and see if it gets warm. Many times you can tap it and get it working and save a repair bill.

X2. Tap on the brass check valve lightly with a hammer. Should unstick it.

Take the cover off the AH unit and check and see if one of the circulating pumps has quit. AH charges $200+ for a replacement. There is an after market pump available from John Carrillo "" for half the cost of the AH pump.

Had to replace one of my pumps. The one from John works just fine.

I'm a fan of diagnosing before I attempt a repair, and diagnosing requires you follow a process. Do as Chet suggests and make sure the pump is turning when the unit is calling for heat - you can see the unit is calling for heat in the zone by looking at the LED on the board beside the zone, when it is lit the pump should be turning.

If the pump isn't, you should check voltages to see if the board is sending the voltage, and if you have a bad connection. If it is spinning, do as 38 special advises and see if the hose is hot/not on the far side of the valve from the pump. If it is cold, try tapping the valve.

If that doesn't work (and give it a decent tap), then you need to come back with the info and ask again.
