Aquahot not heating 2 zones
2003 sig. Had new front penguin2 installed with digital Stat. Back zone 1 says furnace and does work. Zone2 (middle) says heatpump. Front stat new says cool or off, no heatpump or furnace on Stat. Reset by power/mode or zone, whatever manual said. Dip switches were set heat pump and furnace, but no show. No heat in living or dining. It is 11degrees here! I wonder if he installed heat pump or cool only! Anything I can do to get heat?

Heat pumps are useless at those temps. If you can't get the thermostat on furnace he goofed something up. Do you have 2 furnaces or an aquahot? In other words what determines the zones?
The new thermostats will not work with the old ac boards and the new boards will not work with an old thermostat. You can put the old penguin board back in the new ac or get one of the new universal thermostats. There's a mention of them in a thread here. I'll see if I can find it. This may be the one... https://www.microair.net/collections...ne-replacement

Easiest thing to do is try a reset of thermostats. Make sure which ever one you are resetting that the other one is OFF. Then do the same thing over again for the other one.
Again off on the one not being set.

I tried resetting the new and the old 5 button 2 zone. No go. The former owner put on a peng 2 and it does say heat pump, but not furnace (really aquahot). The new tstat just says cool, off, or fan. I still have the old peng board, I am going to see about putting that in. Thank you both.

I have a 5 button 2 zone for back and middle, and a CC2 on the new front peng2.

The dip switches need to be checked and properly set on the new units. Then reprogram the new thermostat and make sure FURNACE shows up.
This should have been checked when the new units were first installed.

Been a lot of posts about this. I have never paid close enough attention, but I know they make a special board for this and as of a month ago it was unavailable. Someone on this forum put his old board back in his new penguin.

Thanks, I 'll check the dip switches when I can get on the roof. That would be the next simplest thing. Thanks, all

I also do not have a furnace setting option on my center Penquin II thermostat, so my Aquahot 200 does not produce heat in my bathroom. My unit has a 5 button front thermostat only runs Zone 1. My rear 10 button has Zones 2 and 3, the Zone 2 only shows Cool, Fan and Off options. I have a tarp over the roof for the winter, but when I pull off the cover, what are the DIP switch settings I should have on the Zone 2 center A/C ? Appreciate info about DIP switch location and every DIP settings for this unit.

To access the dip switches, you must first remove the outer plastic shroud. Then remove the metal cover over the control box section. There will be a row of 10 or more very small rocker switches.
It's best to copy the settings from the previous A/C unit but this requires removing the shroud and control box cover on the old unit and many techs take short cuts.
This link is to a Dometic heat pump instruction set. Look at pages 13 and 14 for dip switch diagrams.

The bedroom thermostat has to have the same settings for the 2 zones. i.e. furnace, furnace. HP, HP. The front can be different.

I had a repair guy come out after the snow/ice was all gone, (he wouldn't come out before), and both new penguin2 units have the dip switches correct. I looked at the directions on the peng2 and it says the phone type line has to have one end reversed? (clip up on one end and down on other.) I know that wasn't done on the front one, at least. I assume the original penguin did not have reversed end? If so, can I reverse at the thermostat end? Sorry for the delayed response, between moving, closing on a house, aquahot problem, and the engine not starting from the cold (had to replace batteries), I've been running in circles.

If reversing the plug is the issue, it doesn't matter what end you reverse on the communication wire.

If the RJ11 plug was wrong, you would not have any functions from the thermostat.
Both the original and the new Dometic A/C units use a reverse RJ11 telephone cord.
The thermostats "read" the various options from the control board dip switch settings.
You might try cleaning ALL the RJ11 connectors with some Deoxit. This includes the junctions inside just under the unit near the air filter. You will find Deoxit on Amazon.
