ATC light

My atc light is staying on. Does anyone have an idea of where to start looking for the problem.

What model and year is your coach.

I own a 2002 Windsor. The ATC is part of the Bendix braking system including the ABS.

In my front drivers side electrical bay located on the outside below the driver window there is a module that you can retrieve blink codes from the ABS system. In my case I have to turn the key on, press the brake pedal 1 time and then go outside to the compartment and push the test button for ~1 second (if you press it longer it deactivates the system). There is a small light that blinks. It will have two series of blinks, from there I can look in a operators manual for my system and it will tell me what's wrong. The last time I had a problem the ABS light was staying on, the blink codes indicated the front drivers side wheel sensor was not within the correct distance to the wheel ring.

Get the above manual for your rig and see how to retrieve the codes.

jacwjames-interesting info, will have to check it out. Thanks
I always thought that it was just a glitch in the system. I discovered that if I tap the brakes with the parking brake off and trans in N before taking off, that the light would go off and remain off for the entire trip.

The front drivers side run bays are not always water tight or clean. The module relies on a good ground to work correctly. I have removed mine a couple times to make sure the grounding is good. The last time I actually ran a whole separate ground wire directly to the module.

Also, dirt and dust accumulate on/in the button that you use to get the fault codes. Sometimes if my ABS light comes on and stays it is because the button has vibrated stuck in. I have used compressed air to blow it out, tapping it rapidly to get the dirt to come out.

atc light

you will think this is the dumbest solution ever.
the atc light will light up if you have a dirty fuel filter.
my light came on right after I first bought it and the dealer said they changed the oil and fuel filters, after posting the same question on here someone told me to check out my fuel filters...(I didn't believe them)
so I called Monaco (they were correct ) so I crawled under to find out the dealer had missed one fuel filter, I changed it and light has stayed off
Good luck
