AZ and A/C
My coach is a 2001 Monaco exec and the ac units are original they blow very cold but can’t keep up.
AZ is 105 today inside 83-85 ac is ok till about 3-4 in the afternoon then just can’t keep up.
They are running all the of day.
We have ceramic tint and all awnings deployed.
All shades are down full.
But truly the walls are hot the aluminum window frames are hot.
All the vents blow air quite a bit in fact so I am kinda stumped.
Is there just not enough CFM to Handel it?
I have heard of adding more vents and also the cover that you can open to dump air directly from the unit into the coach?
Any suggestions?

Being 20 degrees below outside temperature is about the best your going to get. Really don't know any suggestions that is going to help when it's that hot outside. Motorhome just are not insulated like a house is.

I would say not enough BTU's, in that high ambient a/c's are designed on approx. 20 degree TD, at 105 temp 83 is about all you are going to get from factory designed systems especially with coach sitting in direct sun. IMHO

It is NOT 20 degF below the outside temperature. The general rule is the outlet air temperature is 18 to 20 degF below the air temperature entering the filter at the unit.
This is from over 40 years A/C and refrigeration experience.
Use a thermometer, not an infrared sensor. They measure the temperature of a surface, not the air .
If you are making 20 degF across the unit, that is all it will do. Have you cleaned the evaporator coil and filter?
Are the units 13,500 BTUH or 15,000 BTUH?
An older coach may not be insulated that well and you are not going to over come the heat gain. Most RVs are not designed to keep cool in 105 degF ambients.

So Monaco had the whole house exhaust fan in the kitchen area wondering about a 3rd unit there 50amp service so I have the power. I also order this

That’s 10000 btu and not permanent.

One 15 in the front that one has the most trouble keeping up.
The 13.5 in the bedroom seems to be ok.

The bedroom is a much smaller area to cool. Can you put a box fan in the hall on the floor and blow air to the living area.

Feel the inside of your cabinets, on the sunny side and the shady side. Use Reflectix insulation on all your cabinets and wardrobes that attach to an outside wall. It's available at Lowes and attaches with double sided tape. You can do the whole coach in about 4 hours. Makes a big difference. Also use window tint, that helps too.

Reflectix done, tint done, box fan done.
That’s why I am stumped about ready to mount a sprinkler head to the top of the rv and hit it every hour or so.

When in AZ we had made sun screens for the front windshield along with many of the side windows. It's remarkable the sunlight/heat they keep out. Also provides privacy when looking in from the outside, but can easily see looking out from the inside. They easily snap on and we roll them up for easy storage when traveling.
Just an idea I thought I would share.

One thing we discovered that helps a lot on our Bounder, is to cover the ceiling sky light that is in the bathroom. I have and old house curtain that I fold double over on top of the skylight on the roof.

Sunscreen on the windows done.
This is why I am so stumped and I can’t figure out the secret recipe for this. I see others that have all the same stuff but have not asked what temps they get to. Maybe they have the same issue and I am just expecting to much.

I will I just looked and has not shipped but I ordered it on Sunday.
I am hoping to side the hose out the window to start. Would be cool “pun intended” if there was a way to mount inside and have the condenser stored in the basement until needed. I think it would run on a small Honda genny for those times the roof units aren’t needed.
I do plan on reporting back ASAP on that. Also going to use it in my rv garage.
