Back up camera screen

Am wondering if anyone has any info on getting the screen, built into the dash, brighter.

It seems that over time, even using the brightness setting on the controls, and putting the control on bright, it ( the images on the screen ) have gotten quite dim and is becoming harder to see. Other than the dim problem, it works very well. The brightness control has 2 settings and if it's on the lower brightness setting, it's almost impossible to see anything.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

If yours is one with a glass (CRT) screen, and not an LCD, it is probably time to upgrade. CRTs do get dim over the years, and there is no easy fix other than replacement. Several of the companies that make them also make a kit to allow a relatively painless swap.

Rear Camera

Thanks Peter - I didn't know that the CRT screens deteriorated over time but now that you mention it, it does make sense.

Do you know of any company that makes replacement screens that I can swap out for a LCD relatively easily? Would I have to change the camera and its related wiring also or just the screen ?

Thanks again.....

This is what I have in my unit. Lots of features including multi-camera support, auto camera switching, etc.

https://automotive.weldex.com/index....etail?Itemid=0

This unit comes with (or has) a bracket set to let it sit in place of an older CRT monitor. If you are lucky it will even fit the hole in your dash.

Mine has a remote as well, but I have no idea why one would want a remote on it!
