Backup Camera Sucks!
I have a 2004 Monaco Windsor with a color back up camera. I want to use the camera to help me hook up to a trailer. The problem is I can hardly see the ball and hitch. Has anyone solved this problem? Do I need to upgrade my camera or the display or both? Thanks for any input you can give.

Don't they all?
You'd need a camera really close to the hitch.. and likely that would be worth more trouble than it's worth.
And you're talking about a camera made in pre-2004. I can't hardly see anything from my 2014 truck tailgate.
That being said, contact etrailer.com They have many wireless systems that might just do the trick for you.
My fear being that even if you layed down cold hard cash for a new "RV cam and monitor" that your results would be ... similar..
However, A fast, stick on camera for the hitching time, might work and cost less..

This camera is designed just for hooking up to a trailer hitch.

I have a 2002 Unit that I adjusted the angle of the Camera to look downward so I could see the Hitch. It does reasonably well as far as the view of the hitch goes. Your Coach may or may not have the ability to adjust the Camera angle. Have to take a look at your Camera to see if it can be tilted somewhat. Good luck with that project.

Backup Camera
I use a Garmin 760RV GPS and an accessory for this GPS unit is a wireless camera that I mounted so as to be able to see the trailer hitch. Might consider this as an option to take care of your situation.

Backup Camera Sucks
Am in the process of replacing the black & white Intec monitor and camera on my 97 Dynasty which was mostly unusable with a 7inch color monitor with new rear camera and right side camera. Plan to use the existing cable front to rear and existing connectors on this cable. Have been documenting the process in detail and will post the final result very soon. In the interim, happy to answer any questions. This is on a 97 Dynasty, cannot say about other models. Safe travels.

back uo camera sucks
On my 2003 cayman, while checking something in the owners manual, I read about removing the outer cover and adjusting the angle of the camera. this may work for you.
Cheers

There are extremely cheap "license plate cameras" that could easily be mounted in place and then just switch the video input to your monitor with a cheap video switch.
Or just buy a really cheap monitor and have a stand alone camera system to watch the hitch area. It can be triggered by the backup lights if desired or hook to the running lights for power if you want it on all the time.
Fortunately my camera can tilt down and is crystal clear. It is a Voyager setup and is not cheap.

Ours is not a Monaco, but I back up to my trailer with the backup camera, which is mounted near the top of the rig. I can see the ball and coupler well enough to place the ball directly under the coupler from the driver seat with the camera.

My new Garmin 770 GPS with the camera gas a great wide view, I haven't used it for trailer hook up but it would easily work for that too.

Would something like this from Harbor Freight help? They are magnetic and might be easier to see with the camera.
