bath tub encloser

I have an 03 Monaco 40DST. Has anyone tried to pull the tub enclose. I have developed a leak under the tub and have standing water on the floor and have no idea how to get the tub out to see where the problem is. It's not in one spot, but in several areas. I only have a 5 x5 cut out opening that I can see in and that's it. The back goes to the closet and the front goes to the bedroom wall.
Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

Is your model the diplomat? You didn't mention it.

Are your valves inside the shower common with the closet wall?

If so, you might have an access opening in the closet behind the valves. I just went through this and I had a leak inside the wall where the water is hooked up to the shower valve. (different floor plan, but same concept)

Taking out the fiberglass tub/shower is the last resort. Most were installed before the coach had walls or a roof.

Mine is a Windsor 40DST. I can see where the water faucet is and the hose connections are tight. In looking through the opening, which is small, it looks like the tub drain trap is leaking. The only way I going to get to it is pull the bedroom wall. My set up is the tub enclosure sits on an angle and the drain is at the back of the tub by the back closet and the faucet is in the front on the bedroom wall side. This is a raised tub so there is like a sub floor that is a about 3 inches up from the floor. No room to put your hands and the only opening is this small hole.
I can't post any pictures right now.

There's not an access along the tub area? Shower pan has a metal access plate. Sorry unfamiliar with the tubs in Monaco s.

Couple of comments.

Be sure the plastic fittings on the faucet in the wall are not split and leaking there. That was my problem and water was running down to bottom of wall. At first glance, I missed the split fittings and didn't see the water running down. I thought my supply line was damaged where it goes through sub floor--wrong!!

I looked at monacos brochures and don't see the 03 Windsor listed. Is floor plan same as 03 Camelot with bath and 1/2?

If you think it is the drain/trap thats leaking, sometimes the drain inside the shower screws into the ABS pipes below and kinda sandwiches the fiberglass shower pan as you tighten the ABS. They put a rubber washer/gasket under the shower drain , around the ABS, to get It to seal.

Worth a try anyway.

My Sig had the same problem with the drain leaking and water got all under the tile on the floor. Ripped out the whole tub and sub floor and replaced with a shower, new tile and glass shower enclosure. The old tub had a piece of foam under it for support and the tub started to crack in the bottom. Was a pretty sorry way to install with no support under floor of tub, best decision made to tip out the whole thing a start new.

If the tub or shower is cracked, then you have few options. Do you know how much weight it added when you did a new tile enclosure?

Have no idea of additional weight added but with tile and free standing glass enclosure, probably 200 lbs.

We have been traveling and wifi has been bad. All the fittings are ok and there is no crack in the tub. I think the main issue is the drain plug drain. I will have to take out the back wall of the bedroom to get under the tub. For now we are using campground showers till we get home at the end of the month and then the fun begins.

Well, I thought I would give an update. After being on the road for over 30 days I was finally able to tear some things apart. Got everything dried out and the mold taken care of. All the water lines are Ok and no cracked fittings. I re-silicone the tub enclosure, faucet and drain. Turned on the water and no leaks! I waited awhile turned the water on again still no leaks. Decided to give the old girl a bath as it need to be cleaned up so with the slides out, I cleaned under everything and guess what...water on the floor in the bedroom, carpet was wet. We reviewed when we had the water and stopped using the shower and determined at the one campground we were at for 7 days, they had a sprinkler system. the bedroom slide was close to the pop up sprinkler head. They didn't have them on every day as we were in MT and that week we had 89 degree days, snow and rain all week along with some high wind. Never had any more issues once we left because we didn't use the shower. When I gave the old girl a bath, I decided to wash under the slide. I checked my seals and the are tight, but when you wash under the slide, they leaked. I guess a big lesson is to check to make sure the campground doesn't have a sprinkler system by the slide and be careful when washing under the slides. I was able to get my new flooring sealed back down and wet spots on the carpet are cleaned so all is good. Thanks for your reply's as it was easy to check out more thoughts than just mine.
