Battery Acid Mat

Has anyone used these and do they work.

Amazon.com: JEGS Performance Products 10267 Battery Acid Mat: Automotive

I'm about ready to put the new house batteries in and am considering using the mats.

Also looking for larger size mat if anyone knows were to purchase, let me know.

Thanks

I haven't used them but think it would be a good idea. I will try it out when I redo my battery box this spring. I did run across a source on ebay that sells the material by the foot which I will consider when the time comes.

Thanks Don. Will check the roll idea once I see how much in total I need to do the bottom of both trays. If it will cut down on the acid build up when a battery goes bad or in my case 4 went bad it will be worth it.

This place makes custom sizes...BTW, if it isn't too late, is going to AGMs out of the question? no more adding water or worrying about off gassing.

tankercj: Already purchased the batteries. I just couldn't come to grips with paying close to twice the price for the AGMs and getting about the same life as the flooded. I may change my mind next time if battery acid and filling water becomes an issue but for now sticking with flooded.
