Battery Isolator Location

I am installing an Ultra Trik-L-Start Starting Battery Charger/Maintainer on our 2007 Diplomat 40SFT. I would like to install it permanently and the instructions indicate that the unit is connected to the battery isolator. Does anyone have a clue where the isolator is located? I assume it is located in the engine compartment but wanted to get a confirmation before I started to open it up. Thanks in advance.

The battery isolator is located in the front electrical box on the drivers side of the coach. It is the small board that is mounted to the larger board in that compartment.

The contactor that connects the house and chassis batteries together for a boost is located in the battery compartment on the rear curb side on our coach. I connected the Trik-L-Start across that contactor.

Thanks David and Bob for your help. I think attaching the unit to the contactor that ties the house and chassis batteries makes the most sense.

DipHop,

Here is a picture of my battery compartment, which should be exactly like yours, since we have the same coach. The main isolator relay is the large relay above the words "Red Wire here". As you can see, I connected my echo~charge directly to the battery post terminals, but it's better to follow Nodine's advice and connect at the isolator relay (or a T-post). That way you avoid deterioration to the contacts from battery acid.

Here is a picture of my installation of the Trick-L-Start on my 2007 Endeavor which should be like yours. Two pictures with one a closer shot of the wiring hookup to the subject relay.

Lew,

Great minds must think alike. The photo of your battery compartment shows you installed the Trik-L-Start just like mine down to the placement. I also have a gallon jug of distilled water in the same spot.
