I agree, it is difficult to find any really good Beaver forums. But, it sort of depends on what you are looking for. You can certainly look at the Beaver Ambassador's forum (you can look for free) and if you see anything there that seems worth joining you can join for $40 (if you have FMCA membership) or you have to add another $40 for FMCA.

As someone who likes to do a lot of the work myself, I have found this forum and other IRV forums to be far more helpful. You have to look around since things are a bit spread out here. But, the depth of information on IRV is just astounding.

I really wish there was a good Beaver forum and have often thought of reviving the Yahoo BeaverOwners site (that was really just a feeder side for the Beaver Ambassador site). There were a lot of good contributors to that forum. But, I seriously do not have the time to do all the administration required to maintain a forum like that. It is a lot of work. (Which is why I am always in admiration to those who step up and do all that is required to keep these forums working smoothly.)

As a Beaver owner it just takes a bit more research.

Thanks for the feedback and I will look into BAC & FMCA. In the interim I need to find instructions on how to remove my windows to reseal and replace some glass. My Bounder had screws sandwiching the outer and inner frames together. These don't. Any ideas would be appreciated.

GREAT INFORMATION ON RE & RE OF SE-GI WINDOWS
-remove all the shades and valances.
-then pull out the rubber gasket that covers the screws. It is about 1/2" wide, and goes all the way around the window. there is a joint at the top. pull it up at the joint and pull till the whole gasket has detached.
-undo the screws. Watch it when you get down to the last couple. At this point it is a good idea to have a handle attached to the glass on the inside and on the outside, and a helper on a ladder outside to hold on.
-cut any outside silicone or caulking. you may also need to insert a pry under the outside frame to get it moving. Here is where the helper comes in handy.
-remove and lower carefully to the ground.
-undo the screws that hold the frame together, 4, thru a piece of aluminium, about 1"x3", usually at the narrow end. take out the screws holding the divider.
-hold the bottom of the window with your feet, lift the top part of the frame off the glass and while it is deflected away, lift out the slider and the fixed pane of glass.

Re-installation goes in the reverse order. It goes easier if the rubber bits are kept wet. Clean off all of the old silicone before getting your new windows near the coach.

Do not use silicone to seal against the outside of the coach. Your original installation should have used a foam rubber gasket. If that is in good shape, re-use it. If not, go to a glass shop and buy the black foam with adhesive on one side.

Hope this helps someone else.

Nko,

Great information on the window replacement. Thanks for sharing what you found. Next time you post good stuff like this please put it in the Beaver Owners Technical Information (Sticky) at the top of the Monaco Forum. That way it will be around for others to reference when they have to do the same work.

Again, thanks for the input.

Bob

Because of the similarity of Beavers and Safaris...and because Beaver was purchased by SMC and eventually by Monaco, these 2 Yahoo group sites may be helpful to any Beaver owner: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Safarifriends/info
and: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Monacoers/info
