The left roller (looking at coach from driver outside) on bed slideout has wore a rut in the floor of the slide out box. It starts 1/8 in deep and progreses to 3/16 of an inch deep, and when the slide out is retracted to travel position, it sits out of sq in the body opening. I am not sure what happened to cause this. If I ajust the roller to compensate, then slide would be out of square in the extended position. Can I fill the rut with some tye of bodyfill or fiberglass that would stand up. Anyone experiance this. My coach is 03 Imperial,w/3 slides. Thanks, awaiting advice. clare

Clare,
Take a look at this thread about the bedroom slide floor crack that I had fixed under warranty.

Clare,
Apparently, this is a pretty common problem. The Monaco fix is to insert an 1/16" aluminum strip between the roller and slide bottom. This strip runs the full depth of the slide and somewhat wider than the roller and attaches to the slide with pop rivets or screws. The strip helps spread out the force of the roller on the slide and the slide may need to be adjusted after installing the aluminum strip. Our coach is starting to develop a rut and will be installing the aluminum strip in the coming weeks. Installing the strips will require jacking the slide off the roller a little so the strip will pass over the roller. If you visit the Monacoers Group on Yahoo Groups this has been discussed quite a bit.
Here is the link to the Monacoers group:

The strip they put on mine at wildwood Fl was a stainless steel strip with adhesive on one side to hold in place. The strip will not turn loose the glue is very stroung.

Tommy,
Stainless steel is much stiffer and would be much better than aluminum. Adhesive, instead of rivets or screws, would be a better option to avoid stress cracks in the fiberglass slide. Any guess on the SS thickness they used?

I see that I have the same problem on my forward curbside slideout. I am still under warranty for 4 months, so I will get the SS fix.
