Big door bracket at top of door.

Has anyone ever changed the hinge at the top of the entry door that holds the door open. I have a 2008 Monaco Knight DP. There is 2 screws that hold the hing to the body frame and it looks like two pop rivets on the top of the door. It will not hold the door open in a light breeze. If I drill out the rivets I am afraid that I will not be able to reattach the new hinge to the top of the door.
Thanks for the Info.

It is called a swing arm. I am going to try to attach a thread with lots of useful suggestions. Yes you can drill out the four large rivets. Check for my posts in the thread from YC1. The repair has been working great for a couple of years now.

I have a post on there also. Just bent the arm where the bludge would fit into the recess. It has worked great for nearly 1 yr. Really simple fix.

The bracket at the top of my door was loose too. I just two hammers, held one underneath against the pivot rivet and gave the rivet some heavy blows on top with the other hammer. Now it is nice and snug.

I have another problem. The arm at the top is too short and won't let the door open wide enough, not even 90 degrees. Very annoying! I was told by Monaco that two brackets were made for the coach, one several inches longer than the other. Obviously mine has the shorter bracket. They want about $120 for the longer bracket and I'm too cheap to pay that kind of money for something that simple. I'm wondering if I can remount the bracket, (both ends) a little closer to the door hinge. It seems that would allow it to open further. Has anyone ever done this?

MSHappyCampers, I think you will find that some of the arms are counter sunk so it maybe hard to reposition.
