Bilstein front and Koni rear shocks
When I bought our 2002 38' Diplomat RR8R with 58k miles on it 2 years ago the previous owner had just replaced the front shocks with Bilstein (F664 HO ) they have approx. 19k miles on them now. I just discovered the rear shocks are Koni Adjustables ( 88 1671 ) age and miles unknown. Front and rear shocks appear to be in good condition but handling of the coach in high wind and big trucks passing is a challenge.
In my mind front and rear shocks should be the same type and make .
Should I replace the front Bilsteins with Konis or the rear Konis with Bilsteins.
Any experts out there have some advise?
Thank you for any comments

On our 2002 DSDP we had rear KONI FSD's and front Bilstein Comfitrack's Drove just fine.

I doubt that changing shocks will have any effect on high crosswind handling.
Think about it.... Your rig likelly weighs about 30,000 lbs. These shocks can be compressed with one arm.

Changing shocks won't help with handling in wind and around trucks. You need to read up on this thread:
Wandering, sway bars, alignment, ride height, oh my!!

I would look elsewhere for your issue, dont belive shocks are the problem.I have an 04 diplomat 38 with same chassis and miles, no sway,no issues with semi's passing or high winds, can drive one handed, and that is with monroe's !
