Black tank leak

First of all we haven't been around for awhile ( since Quartzite gathering) because of Ron's health. To all who welcomed us there thanks so much.

So I'm trying to solve as many things myself as I can and I need help

We have developed a drip drip drip black tank leak.
It is where the black PVC pipe enters the bottom of the black tank.
It's been suggested that I
1. Clean the area up
2. Get a piece of black pvc and a coupler ( 4" to fit over the existing 3")
3. Slit these pieces to fit over
4. Use the correct PVC glue and glue the coupler to the tank.
Is there a certain schedule of PVC that is thick enough to seal over this area.

Any other easier ideas. Maybe just an adhesive that I can cover the area with ???

Thanks in advance

That pipe has a press fit with a hose clamp so you should be able to tighten it to stop it. If that doesn't work probably empty and clean the tank as good as you can and take the pipe out of the tank and clean it real good. I believe they use some type of sealer when installing it.
Doing what was suggested doesn't sound like a good idea.

Thanks for a fast reply Theres a clamp but it is located on the horizontal part of the pipe about 2 inches away from the part that curves up to the tank. This leak is on the bottom of the tank right where the pipe seats into the tank.
Hope that's a better description.
I just wonder if there isn't just a sealant that can be used

I'll try and get a picture in the morning.

So the leak is between the clamp and the tank? May be possible to get something to seal it but it will need to be extremely clean and dry. We use a caulk called 5200 on boats which is the strongest sealer you can buy. Impervious to oil gas and just about anything.
