Black Tank Rinse Clogged

Bought this 2005 Monaco Monarch SE 33 a couple years ago and the black tank rinse system never has worked. Tried high pressure water and blowing out with air....still will not able clear the clogged system. Have read about other guys getting access and/or working on a vacumn breaker, but it was on different models. Anyone one know how to clear the clogged system on this model?? Thanks in advance for your help.

It may not be blocked or clogged, mine was put in backwards at the factory. Something to consider.

Your problem may be your check/pressure valve, I just replaced mine due to odors and defective valve leaking water in coach, may be installed reverse. On my 2002 Monaco executive it is located under the bathroom sink. Black water flush routes from outdoor flush to under bathroom and then down to black holding tank, I think this may be your problem, valve is directional.

2 sources of clogging

The holes in nozzle
The anti-back flow vacuum breaker device

Nozzle requires access to black tank......and needs to be style that is removable.
Some are glued in place, some are high speed spun in place & some are threaded.

Anti-flow vacuum breaker device is typically inside bathroom sink cabinet or sometimes in a closet.
They can get jammed and not allow water to flow
Can/have been installed backwards

Common type used-----cheap junk

Better grade spring loaded check valve style

Typical installation (anti backflow vacuum breaker required)

Great photo, a picture is better than word description, that's the valve I was talking about, vacuum/check valve.

Many thanks to all you guys for your appreciated advise.......great forum. Will tackle the vac valve first because it is probably the easiest to getto on this rig. Will keep you posted what I run into after the holidays.

My flush gets clogged up every time I drive with a nearly full black tank. Waste gets on the flush head and it clogs up when it dries up. The only way I clear the flush head, is to flush the tank right after I drive with a full blank tank and the flush head is wet. As long as the water pressure is high it will blow it out. It doesn't work every time but most if the time. That's my cure.

When mine clogged I found that it was the actual spray head in the black tank that clogged. I removed it scrubbed it clean and then oversized the spray holes by one drill bit size. Have not had any issues since.

UPDATE to my clogged tank rinse system. Thanks to all your input, photos and diagram. Found the vac valve under the bath sink and easily removed. The vac valve seems to work okay, but an inline check valve was attached to the output side of the valve for some reason and it was totally closed. Don't know why it was ever installed ???? But, it would not open at all...either way. Will put the vac valve back in and check the system out without the inline check valve. Keep you posted. Merry Christmas ,

Paul....you may want to reinstall that check valve. I believe it is there to prevent black water from backing up and contaminating your fresh water line/faucet.

Hello everyone. I've had the same issue with my new to me 04 HR Admiral. The tank rinse feature doesn't work at all. I've located the check valve under the sink, removed it to check it there is a flapper or something of the sort that activates with slight air pressure I'd say less than 2-3 psi? Only other thing I can think of is the nozzle at the tank is clogged? Anyone know where it's located on that model year?
