bose system

I have a 98 Beaver Patriot with the Bose entertainment system in it and can not get the speakers to work . I am hoping that someone knows a trick to turning these on, but I am afraid that the amp may be fried. anybody had this problem and found an easy fix?

Those Bose systems were two-part units with the pre-amp being in a front console with a power amp located possibly in an overhead cabinet. In mine there is a switch in the cabinet over the front door that turns the power amp on. There is also a sub-woofer often located under the sofa.

My power amp had died when we bought our coach and we decided to replace the entire system rather than pay Bose to repair the amp. What they wanted for the repair was close to what it cost us to replace the entire system and we ended up with digital audio capability.

If you do choose to repair it, you need to call Bose and find the group that deals with custom Lifestyle systems.

I had a problem with my Bose system last year. I contacted

Norbern Electronics, Stereo Repair, Bose Service, Colorado Springs

They were able to help me troubleshoot it via emails and I shipped them the faulty part. Quick fix, very reasonable and it sounds better than it ever did.

Give them a try.

There is a round S-video-like plug that goes into the Bose receiver from the amp/subwoofer. Make sure it is fully seated in its connector.
