Brake light switch location?

Looking for the location of the cold side of the brake light on our 2006 Monaco Camelot. I’m wiring up a Tekonsha P3 brake controller and need to connect to the brake switch, cold side. Has anyone wired a brake controller with the same air brakes? I need to find the wire that only has power when brakes are applied.
Thanks, Ted C

Do your brake lights activate with the exhaust ( engine) brake operation ?

Does your coach use the same bulb for brake and signal ?

If your brake lights don't come on with the exhaust brake and brake and signal use the same bulb ; then the base of the steering column at the signal switch wiring is the best place under the dash to tap into brake light power from the air brake pressure switches.

Ted-

Your 2006 could be pre-wired for a trailer electric brake controller. One of the documents below describes where to find the connector, if it's there. You can then put a matching connector on the P3 harness and make it plug-and-play. If you can, avoid cutting off the factory-supplied connector.

The other documents describe:

1) a wiring error in pre-wired 2006 coaches, and
2) where to pick up brake signal, if not pre-wired

Your brake light control switches are in the front just above the generator. They are pressure switches installed in the airlines. You may have more than one and you may have to wire in a relay to correct the polarity.

Our 2007 Executive had the trailer brake prewire but finding it was very difficult.

Thanks for all assisitance!

Thank you to ALL for your posts. After reading everything and understanding that all Monaco's are potentially different, I have successfully installed my Tekonsha P3 controller. I was able to tap into the factory wired 7 way plug only using the BLUE trailer brake wire under the dash. I found the brake lamp wire #107 in the run bay, drivers side front. Oddly enough it was a positive signal not negative. Perhaps the previous owner reversed the polarity. In any event the controller is wired and installed and appears to be functioning properly.
Thanks again for all the input!
