Sounds like you found the problem.

Feel the input side "compressor" turbine. If it has just a small amount of play, and turns freely, all should be fine.

The white smoke sounds like unburned fuel. Normal when you don't have enough air to burn it all, and that happens when you loose turbo boost.

When the hose blew off you experienced a rich fuel mixture.
You were injecting enough fuel to burn under boost pressure and the boost disappeared.

Less air more smoke. Replace the hose and start it up.

Problem fixed. Clamp on rubber tube between turbo and CAC broke and turbo blew off. Replaced tube with new clamps and runs perfect. I am in Indiana enjoying family and looking forward to the family reunion this weekend. Thanks for the help...saved me some big$$$$

Great to hear. Turbos are expensive and hard to find right now.

This was a great story to read and learn, which I did. I'm new to the diesel world but had enough experience to work on gas engines over the years. So I like to follow stories like this. Sorry the OP had this happen in the first place but the outcome couldn't be better IMHO. Kudo's to all that helped and great job by the OP and everyone with input. It's why I enjoy IRV2 because of the great help. Thanks!

Recently I was camping next a class A rig just like mine. He blew a turbo coming into the CG. We discussed how he was going to fix or replace it and come to find out he worked for a heavy equipment company in Riverside CA. His mechanic said he would get it rebuilt in San Bernardino at San Bernardino Turbo Repair. They repair just about any turbo for $700 and usually turn it around in a day. James is the owner and their number is 909 842 1929. Even if you had to overnight it both ways it would be less expensive. I have no affiliation with this company. Just passing along some good info. Hope I never have to use them but good info I keep in my POC listing.

We had same problem while traveling. We discovered the turbo clamp came off. We were lucky to coast into fire station and they gave us a ride to Napa where we got a clamp. Put in on and we’re on our way in two hours. We have a 2016 Integra Anthum.

you are very close to 2 good rv places for repairs. Travers and Camping World (please, no comments on CW). If you need more, I am not far away in Illinois

Chased a low boost problem. I found some small leaks and fixed with some boost improvement. Then lost boost again. The intake for the air brake compressor is an air line from the intake manifold. Large 1in id. air leak. 2000 Cummins 5.9.
