Broken flex drain in kitchen slide

It appears the flex PVC drain line in our 2006 DD4 kitchen slide has cracked & is leaking. I guess 15 years is not too bad of a lifespan - given the design.

Has anyone had the delight of attempting to replace this flex PVC drain in the kitchen slide? Any secrets for a successful repair would be appreciated! TIA!

Search the Alpine Coach owners group if Monaco group doesn't have answers. (not likely though, great group here)
Many posts on this subject over there, one thing that seems successful is to replace the stiff pvc hose with a much more flexible pool filter type hose. Good luck.

The original is a spa hose, I bought a replacement at Lowe’s. It’s not difficult depending on your layout. I had good access after removing a wall cabinet in the water closet.

Here’s a good thread.

We had to replace ours also. I decide not to use the spa hose as it is really to stiff for that application in my opinion. I measured up the hose and went to an auto parts store and got a smooth universal upper radiator hose. Its been on there for 3 years and has worked well for us. It is much easier to work with. I put double hose clamps on each end for extra security. Hope this may help. Happy Trails Bert

I had the same issue with my 2000 Discovery. Flex hose cracked. Heard water splashing when I ran the sink. I pulled out the 4 drawers which gave me limited access to the broken hose. I also went to the auto parts store and found a molded upper radiator hose that had bends in it that fit my application. Two radiator clamps....and I had to cut off a few inches but its been working great for about 3 years.

Happycarz has a good writeup with pic's on this forum, of the replacement.

I'm just too lazy to go looking for it!

flex hose

I had to fix mine a few times, then I hooked the flex hose to the rigid pipe using a fernco (I believe that's what it's called) rubber connector. Have had no problems in 2 years.
Hope this helps, Jake

This tread made me check mine for leaks...Everything looks good so I saved the link. Mine is different but it has some helpful ideas.

I recall this happened on my 03 Dynasty years ago. The spa pipe was glued into the PVC fitting and right at that joint, apparently a lot of flexing and force broke it off right at the joint. First time I just dug out the broken stub, cleaned the fitting, and and re-glued it. Lasted for a few years...

Tried something different second time it broke. Slid a "No-Hub joint" on the hose and re-attached it to the fitting. Then moved the No-Hub in place, filled as much silicone sealer as possible and tightened down the clamps.

Pool vacuum hose is way more flexible and won't crack the rest of the system. It is made in varying qualities. All I could get in Montana was the cheaper blue stuff, it's been fine for 3 years now

I used commercial car wash vacuum hose the last time which has been good. I would not use spa hose again.

Thought this might help people visualize how these types of systems can be installed.
Attached is a parts page showing the parts and how they are installed in the cabinet on my coach.

I have not had a problem with mine. To access this I'd have to take the shelf out the larger compartment under my stove top and then remove the panel.
